Even the thought of going to jail can get your heart racing and increase stress hormones in your brain. Its not just psychological but physical effect also that shows how much scare you can be.
Your body triggers the emergency signal, and you get flooded with hormones like cortisol. There is adrenaline rush. You feel like this is the time to make a decision to take up the fight or flight. This is serious.
So when your are having a peaceful sleep. Such horrible, vivid and realistic dream can wake you up with a jerk. Swear on your forehead, high pulse and racing heart.
The emotions that you face at this point in your dream can be any out of these.
Confused, frustrated, sad, angry, upset, cheated, unfair, mad, scared, guilty and many other like these.
What does jail dreams mean?
Jail means being constricted. It means you are unable to get out or move from a situation or person. You are feeling stuck.
The other interpretation on Jail dreams can be you know you have done something wrong in waking life, you understand the consequences and feel guilty about it.
The proper way of decoding these dreams is absolutely personal. What is your past? How have you been taking decisions? What are your life experiences? What inspires you? You have all the answers, you need to speak to yourself honestly, if you want these dreams to stop bothering you.
If you give yourself some time and analyse your recent days or recent past you can figure out if there is some one who is Judging your or someone wants to make it even with you, they might be on your back. It might not your real fault but you are being made to feel that ways, so keep a close watch.
Being stuck in life
We all get this feeling at least once in life. Being stuck in a wrong country, wrong program, wrong relationship, wrong friends and mostly a wrong job.
None of these can be changed with a snap of a figure. So, if you have a strong feeling of being stuck and have tried everything to make yourself feel better, then plan and take action to get your life’s reins in your own hands. No point being stuck. We are supposed to be moving ahead in our lives and not dragging it.
Was there a jailer too?
A jail can not be without a jailer but the point is did you notice one in your dreams?
What? you were the jailer?
Then the question is what were you doing? Whom were you arresting?
If you saw a known face, that you have arrested, it means you think that person has done something wrong. So, if you are in a position to judge its better to speak to the person.
If you see a jailer putting you in jail
This means you know that you have done something wrong to him, so it is better to admit it to him in waking life rather than being bothered in dreams.
It can be difficult to admit your fault but that is the only way, to get rid of your guilty.
There are two parts, for us to move ahead happily in our life.
Who needs to forgive you? and whom do you need to forgive?
Both are equally important; Lord Shri Krishna has also said in Shrimad Bhagvad gita that forgiveness is a great quality that everyone should aspire and practice.
Leaving you with this thought.
Will meet you tomorrow with what dreams mean to kids, how they dream and all. Stay tuned.
I’m lucky and happy I’ve never had a jail dream.
Interestingly my J is about Switzerland’s justice system.
Happy Weekend 🙂

Wow. Really interesting. I look forward to your posts daily, Ujjwal 🙂
Thankfully I’ve never had any jail dreams. It must be scary and confusing to have them though. Glad that you broke them down for everyone.
Jail dreams must be scary! But your interpretation decodes them to make us understand what they really mean. A stressed state of mind can conjure up disturbing dreams.
Thank God , I never had such dreams but I am amazed by your study and research on this topic. The way you connected it to Gita is so thoughtful. Yes, by forgiving we can have a peace of mind.
Thanks for sharing this insightful post, I am happy I never had such prison related dreams. It was nice reading more about it in detail
That was a really enlightening post. I have thankfully never dreamt of being jailed or having to interact with a jailer, but I guess the imagery sort of speaks for itself in terms of an explanation.
I have never ever seen a jail or visited one in real life. Maybe hence I never dream about it. However it was an interesting post.
Oh this is a very novel and interesting post. The idea of being jailed have never occurred to me, not even in my worst nightmares
I have never such dreams nor such thought. You have explained so deeply and it’s a nice research too. . This is so interesting .
I am quite impressed by your dream prediction posts, the way you explain each scenario shows the level of research you have put into it. Thankfully I never had a jail dream.
The interpretation of jail dream sounds intriguing. Never imagine if saw ourselves in jail in our dream it means we unable to get out or move from a situation
Wow that’s a deep interpretation Ujjwal. I like the jailer one the most though thankfully never had a jail dream so far
This is such an interesting topic. Yes, people dream and sometimes they get scared of their dreams. Definitely interpreting and understanding dreams is absolutely important as is acting upon the indicators you receive from such dreams.
I was once in similar situation and later when i spoke to my friend who does tarot reading too then she brought me out of the emotions and jail dreams stopped and never came after that.
