Miss. Morris is very excited that she is knowing the story not from her trusted resources but rather directly from Anokhi and Manav. She was new to getting direct information, she always had to work hard for it. Miss. M brought tea and snacks for everyone. While we were savouring them Anokhi continued the storytelling.
Manav and I become friends really quick. With my magic powers I could sense that he is a good human being. I liked to be around him. I knew, he also liked me right from the moment he saw me. The friendship grew. I started doing small magical things to make his life easy. Like helping find books at library, keeping the queues free at canteen and accounts at college. Of course, without his knowledge. My favourite trick was to know what he is craving to eat at lunch and open up exactly same thing from my tiffin. Manav and Anokhi both giggled. The food was always as per his taste, and why not it was made or created for him to like it.
Anokhi winked at Manav, and continued. Although, I was very sure that Manav liked me but I wanted to make him the first move. Like any other girl my age. I the queen of Thethoris, could marry any wizard I like to, but I fell for this man. So, what should I see in this man, what special can he bring to my life? I thought to myself.
Anokhi decided that if Manav is able to surprise her and do something beyond her anticipation then she can think of going further in the relationship. Otherwise, she might or might not give a reason and disappear. For this she gave herself a deadline of six months. This feeling of love was new to both of them. Every day I prayed that he does something beyond my expectations, but days turned into weeks and week into months. We met every day, spoke and spent time together. I was happy but not swept away.
The last weekend of the 6 months deadline arrived. We planned to meet. I was sure that Manav, would as me to be his muse for a photo session with him, being a budding photographer, he was always in search of new things. And then he would come closer and ask me to marry him. So I said yes and we met on Saturday morning.
On his bike we went almost in the outskirts of the city, near a lake. But he kept talking regular things about college his mom, exams etc. I prompted him; you didn’t bring camera along with you? To which he just smiled and replied, “I have got it, but will take out if anything mesmerizing comes up.”. Oh! I thought.
They spent the whole day together. While speaking about his mother, Manav realized that he hasn’t called her up and she must be getting worried. But there was no network. He started getting anxious after a little while. “let’s go back, my mother must be getting worried. There is no mobile network here”, Manav said. “is it? Show me the phone.” Saying that Anokhi took the brand new phone from his hand and dialled his mother’s number. And Tadaaaa the call got connected. Manav spoke to his mother, although he couldn’t concentrate while talking to her, he kept looking at Anokhi.
When he was done with the call, they started walking towards the parking. Just then Manav held her hand and said,” Anokhi, I don’t know how you did that. Not just that there was no network but no balance in my prepaid too. But I am more than keen to know you better. I want to take a leap in dark, with you. I want to take this relationship ahead, and want a daughter who would look just like you. Will you marry me?

This was interesting to read how Manav and anokhi’s relationship grew in past. looking forward to know more about it next post.
That’s cute and interesting, He had all this in mind, just maybe was waiting for the time similar to as he was for that mesmerizing picture. So magically anokhi bought what he wanted in lunch, that’s lovely.
Manav popped up the marriage proposal but will it be counted as something special to Anokhi?
I love the literally magical element that has been running throughout this story all month. Brings a smile to my face, especially when it’s used for a good positive thing like this
Aww, isn’t that the cutest way to take the relationship forward? Anokhi must be so happy! I wish I had small magical powers like these. 🙂
How sweet, doing magical things for making manas’s life easy. They make a perfect pair, he knew everything about her so that’s the good thing.
