Running away from something in your dream? Were you naked? Were you running from your own marriage? #atozchallenge

Running is a good exercise, however when we are running from something unwanted or may be running for life is not encouraging at all. These types of dreams are sign of anxiety or depression.

Running away dreams mean that you have given up on finding solutions, or the situation is so overwhelming for you to handle that you preferred to run away rather than to face it. You are incapable of facing tough time. May be have lost hope of taking thing under your control.

The general feeling or emotions that you face in running away dreams are sad, stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, frightened, scared, shocked.

When such dreams become recurrent and start bothering your normal waking life, then you must try to think about what is bothering you. Dreams can only send a sign. You need to find the solutions by yourself. First of all, you need to analyse what are you running from or who are you running from. These types of dreams come into category of nightmares. Say if you are being chased by a wild animal or monster.

Once you figure out the what, half the battle is won. This can be a family conflict, a bad relationship, office politics or any particular person who is making you feel insecure or unsafe.

Let’s decode different meanings of running away dreams.

Running away from home:

Home is one place where we can be ourselves. It offers shelter, comfort, love, warmth and security. So, why would someone run away from home?

Running away from home represents uncomfortable with social environment. It doesn’t mean your real home or your family, rather it means there is too much of discomfort from a known source. It can be being bullied, nagged or taunted for failures. Failures regarding Job, marriage, exam scores anything.

Running away from bull:

When you are being chased by a bull and it’s unlike the bull race in the Bollywood flick ‘Zindagi milegi na doobara’ for fun and adventure the it means you have a workplace trouble. Someone is tricking you into office politics, using you for their own benefits or simply putting you in soup to save themselves.

Running away from any animal, who is not in a good mood means you have a threat in your waking life. The animal can be wild or domestic.

Running away from bees:

Bees, they may be small, but their sting is very painful and dangerous. We have seen in many cartoons about being chased by bees. If they come in, you dream what does it mean. Seeing bees in dreams is not all that good, it means trouble in future.

When a bee stings you while you are running away, means that you are going to have issues in your relationship.

If a swarm of bees is chasing you and you are running for shelter, means you have not recognized who is your true friend and who is just a pretend. This dream means, people whom you think as your close friends are not really good friends.

Running away from a monster or chasing a monster:

Running away from a monster:

Is a sign of your strength. These dreams mean that if you can run away and save yourself from a monster then you can overcome anything in life.

You are chasing the ghost:

That is a good omen. It means you are going to be lucky in love as well as business.

Running as a sport:

If you see yourself participating in a running sports event or you are among the audience seeing a race, it means that you are chasing your goals with all your zest and winning is just around the corner.

Running away in a war:

Running away in war reminds me of ‘Forest Gump’. A war in dreams mean lack to control over things. These kinds of dreams come due to stress and anxiety in waking life. It’s a good idea to understand what is troubling you. You can try meditation and relaxation techniques, that can help you reduce stress and anxiety.

To run away from marriage in a dream:

Running away from marriage denotes that you are not ready to take responsibility. You have lost control in life.

Running away from a natural disaster:

Natural disasters can come unwarranted. It can be an earthquake, flood, volcanic eruption etc. This might be due to insecurity and unsure about future, however the silver lining is that you are able to save yourself and run from that situation.

Running naked in public:

Being naked in public is not a very comfortable dream. Being naked means, you are not happy with your current situation. The feeling of dissatisfaction, lack of confidence and mistrust are overtaking your emotional space. You need to focus on the current task in your hand and take control in your hand.

If you are comfortable being naked publicly in your dreams indicate that you are rude, harsh and cocky with people around you.

There are countless movies about running and chasing. As far as my favourite is concerned it ‘Runaway Bride’. It’s a 1999 classic starring none other than Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. They were seen together in one more favourite of mine ‘Pretty Woman’.

Old Classic

In Runaway bride, Maggie carpenter in nervous about getting married. And has many failed relationships. This rendezvous of her running from wedding makes her a story for tabloids. The story moves ahead till she finds true love in the form of Homer Graham a columnist. He covers her story with many errors. And correcting the story brings them together.

Time to enjoy old classics, its best way to keep the lock down blues away. Yesterday nigh I watched Mughal-e-Azam.

But now, if I look back, I feel it was more of a scene from an old Malayalam movie that I watched as a child. But it must be so awful to run after being chased by the bees. And this one scares me the most.
